Association of Washington Cities is Hiring a Health Promotion Coordinator Near Olympia, WA

Association of Washington Cities (AWC) is recruiting for a full-time Health Promotion Coordinator to join our dynamic and customer orientated team. This position is part of the contracted AWC Employee Benefit Trust (Trust) program to develop, promote, implement, and evaluate the health promotion programs of the Trust. This includes coordinating and managing benefit and health management data, identifying training tools, and developing educational opportunities that empower members of the Trust to establish healthy workplace cultures and deliver benefit programs that encourage and support employee health.

The salary range for this position is $64,720 - $102,258. The top candidate’s placement within the range will reflect education, training, and experience consistent with AWC policies.

This position may be able eligible to telework during certain times of the year or certain time periods, subject to director approval and as determined by the needs of AWC.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide assistance to employers and employees regarding Trust benefit program offerings, including all aspects of benefits as they relate to health management
  • Provide consultations and technical assistance on workplace health promotion to member employers
  • Develop health promotion campaigns, programs, and tools that educate and inspire employees to make healthy choices and adopt healthy behaviors
  • Write communications to support and promote programs through a variety of channels, including marketing materials, website content, and newsletter articles
  • Identify training needs, design curriculum, and deliver training that is tailored to the audience using a variety of modes including eLearning, social media, workshops, conferences, and member site visits
  • Review member wellness programs and offer recommendations to improve program effectiveness
  • Assist the Health Promotion Supervisor in analyzing data to evaluate program success and modify programs to meet member needs for maximum effectiveness

What you bring to the team

  • Four years’ experience in worksite health promotion, project management, health benefits or health-related field, preferably in the public sector
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, education, or related field preferred, or experience may be substituted year-for-year for academic achievement
  • Knowledge of benefits and the role health promotion plays on an overall cost containment strategy
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices in workplace health promotion
  • Technical ability to review data and provide as needed to various vendors
  • Ability to research, analyze information, and form recommendations
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactive management of personal bias
